Unique that is. Have to attend his lectures to fully assess how eccentric but legendary he could be. by Phuong - 03/12/2012 - 16:23
What great hair! And he might even be related to aldous huxley. I was staying in this hotel in bristol when i saw him wandering outside reading some "ecnonomates" as i like to call it. by Lecture You - 16/02/2012 - 18:47
Gervas is a legend. Not much more needs to be said.. by Kitty - 08/12/2011 - 13:10
Since I graduated over 5 years ago I've bumped into a anumber of UoB Economics students and all will inevitably mention Gervas in their recollections. He was engaging, challenged our thinking and highly entertaining. When I think back to my economics lectures at Bristol I always remember the insights and fun from Gervas' lectures. by Nicola - 07/12/2011 - 04:30

There was never a dull moment with Gervas. Highly entertaining, highly educational and highly recommended. by Simon - 06/12/2011 - 11:36
I graduated in 1995 (and again, in 1996, and in 1999). Sixteen years later, I still think of economics as the most powerful road map to human actions and inter-actions; a way of providing a structure to understand, make sense of, and predict, social outcomes. And not because the discipline is inherently accessible to students, but because Gervas made it so; passionately. by Andreas - 26/11/2011 - 23:43
A great lecturer with a no-nonsense, blunt approach you wouldn't find with other lecturers. I loved his lessons and tutorials and the true teller is when I bump into other Bristol Economics Alumni from previous years, he is also the person talked about. by jake - 21/11/2011 - 08:40
Gervas is the sort of lecturer they make movies about. Until that day, the BoB lecture is the best way to catch him. by Bob - 20/11/2011 - 22:39
An inspirational lecturer who is totally committed to his students. by John - 15/11/2011 - 22:30
I graduated in 1999 and I still remember his lectures. Hugely inspirational person in my life. by Alex - 07/11/2011 - 10:16
one in a million. Who else would know that I knew what a Laffer curve was, when I said I didn't know? Good luck! James by james - 01/11/2011 - 12:14
I would definitely like to vote for Gervas. He has amazing understanding of practical and theoretical aspects of economics, and always teaches his subject in the light of the contemporary issues thus making the it aimore interesting and relevant. Moreover, he is very passionate and vocal about issues that affect students on campus and has actively campaigned to improve the student experience at this university. by Sannan - 29/10/2011 - 01:15
Almost certainly one of the most entertaining and eccentric lecturers. A must see.. (***** 5 stars ) by Jack - 24/10/2011 - 14:34
